
The 2026 BET Awards went down Sunday night live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, with Druski serving as host for the evening.
The ceremony celebrated Black excellence across music, film, television, fashion, sports, and culture, with a night full of performances, tributes, special honors, and major wins.
Teyana Taylor had one of the biggest nights of the show. She was honored with the Icon of the Year Award, presented by Janet Jackson, and also took home multiple wins including Best Actress, Video Director of the Year, and The Fashion Vanguard Award.
Music executive Sylvia Rhone was also honored with the Ultimate Icon Award, presented by Kelly Rowland. Rhone’s decades-long career has helped shape the careers and music of artists including Missy Elliott, Busta Rhymes, Brandy, Erykah Badu, Gerald Levert, Mikki Howard, Destiny’s Child, En Vogue, A Tribe Called Quest, Future, Tyla and many more.
Ms. Lauryn Hill received the inaugural Living Legend Icon Award. Ice Cube presented her with the honor following a tribute that included performances from The War & Treaty/Tanya Blount, SZA, Doechii, Tierra Whack, Doja Cat, Nas, Lizzo, Zion Marley, Queen Latifah, Common and more. Hill also took the stage herself during the tribute.
The show also included a tribute to D’Angelo. His children introduced his band, The Vanguard, who performed alongside Ari Lennox, RAYE, Durand Bernarr and others.
The night featured performances from T.I., who opened the show, as well as Tems, Kehlani, French Montana, Rick Ross, Max B, Cardi B and more. Cardi B performed during the ceremony and accepted her award for Best Female Hip Hop Artist during the show.
Other memorable moments included Druski’s hosting bits, Durand Bernarr running down the aisle during the Coulda Been Records segment, Martin appearing with Druski, and Keke Palmer taking the mic from Druski and joking that she should have hosted.
