The backlash for the Country Music Awards (CMAs) continues!

Despite being one of the year’s most acclaimed albums, and breaking records, Beyonce‘s ‘Cowboy Carter’ received zero nominations for the 2024 CMAs, which outraged fans and music lovers alike.

In addition to Beyonce being snubbed, the DMV’s own, Shaboozey who received two nods in his debut year as a nominee with his breakthrough hit “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” and his recent single “Highway.”

Shaboozey didn’t get the chance to take the stage in acceptance of either of his nods — New Artist of the Year or Single of the Year but did hit the stage for a performance.

Bey received some support from fellow artist and country legend Billy Ray Cyrus ahead of the show.

Cyrus took to his Instagram to celebrate his past win with Lil Nas X, while sharing his frustration with Bey not being nominated, despite having one of the biggest country songs of the year.

He also, called her album “brilliant” while revealing that despite the snubs, she still won and didn’t need the CMA judge’s approval or permission to do her art.

Congratulations to ALL @cma nominees! I’m so happy and proud to see country music opening their doors and format to be inclusive to all people, all styles. @lilnasx and I won this award in 2019 for Event Of The Year… but you wouldn’t have seen it because they didn’t air it in the show. I was surprised to see @beyonce wasn’t nominated??? Her album was brilliant… her single ruled. But she knows that. She doesn’t need a trophy from the CMA… or permission …. or approval from any of their judges. “When ya knock em out…. Ya don’t need no judge“.
