Despite hopes from fans and the masses alike, Britney Spears has just made it loud and clear that they should not expect a new album or music from her anytime soon.
The iconic but troubled pop star previously released stand-alone singles including ‘Hold Me Close,’ a collaboration with Elton John, and most recently the will.i.am-assisted ‘Mind Your Business’ leading fans to believe that a new project might be in the works.
Well, on Wednesday (Jan. 3) Britney took to social media to shut down any speculation she is making new music for herself and revealed that she has absolutely zero plans to return to the music industry.
Just so we’re clear most of the news is trash !!! They keep saying I’m turning to random people to do a new album … I will never return to the music industry !!! When I write, I write for fun or I write for other people !!! For those of you who have read my book, there’s loads that you don’t know about me … I’ve written over 20 songs for other people the past two years !!! I’m a ghostwriter and I honestly enjoy it that way !!! People are also saying MY BOOK WAS RELEASED WITHOUT MY APPROVAL ILLEGALLY and that’s far from the truth … have you read the news these days ??? I’m so LOVED and blessed !!!

Britney’s last studio album was 2016’s ‘Glory’ which debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 and featured multiple singles including ‘Make Me’ (ft. G-Eazy) and ‘Slumber Party’ (ft Tinashe).
