If you grew up in the 80s and 90s then without a doubt you likely remember the classic hit show ‘Video Soul‘ hosted by beloved radio and television personality, Donnie Simpson.
The hit show which ran on BET for a solid 15 years from June 1981 until September 1996, brought interviews, music videos, and performances from the hottest R&B, soul, and hip-hop artists during that time.
Well now, the series is back and streaming with all-new interviews with some of his good friends and fave celebs in R&B and Hip Hop. Donnie previously teased the VS reboot back in April 2019 when he took to his social media to reveal that the reboot was officially on the way, although he didn’t give too much detail.
Fast forward, he made the official announcement of the return on Wednesday (September 29) revealing that fans can now stream the updated series on Tubi for free!

Fans of the iconic radio and TV legend know that Simpson came out of retirement in 2015 when he popped back up on local D.C. radio after departing from his longtime radio home at WPGC in 2010 after being with the station for over two decades.
He simultaneously hosted ‘Video Soul’ and did his wildly popular morning show ‘The Donnie Simpson Morning Show’ which ran from March 1993 to January 29, 2010.
