One of the most iconic names in music, Tina Turner also known as “The Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll” has died according to various outlets including TMZ and Turner’s own team who confirmed the news on Wednesday.

The iconic singer died at her home in Küsnach near Zurich Switzerland today following a long, unspecified illness.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tina Turner. With her music and her boundless passion for life, she enchanted millions of fans around the world and inspired the stars of tomorrow. Today we say goodbye to a dear friend who leaves us all her greatest work: her music. All our heartfelt compassion goes out to her family. Tina, we will miss you dearly.”

According to Dailymail, in what is thought to be her final interview with The Guardian last month, when asked how she would like to be remembered, she said: ‘As the Queen of Rock’n’Roll.

‘As a woman who showed other women that it is OK to strive for success on their own terms.’

Ms. Turner was 83. RIP to the legend and icon!
