The star-studded milestone event went down on Friday, June 26, 2026, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles during BET Awards Weekend.
The honor celebrates Missy’s unmatched impact on music, visuals, fashion, creativity, and culture as a whole. For decades, Missy has remained one of the most innovative and fearless artists in the game — constantly pushing boundaries, setting trends, and creating moments that still influence artists today.
From her groundbreaking music videos and futuristic sound to her work behind the scenes writing and producing for some of our faves, Missy has truly helped shape the sound and look of hip-hop, R&B, and pop culture.
The Culture Creators Innovators & Leaders Awards Brunch has become one of the must-attend events during BET Awards Weekend, honoring the artists, executives, creatives, and leaders who continue to move the culture forward.
This year’s 10th annual celebration also honored a powerful lineup of culture shifters across entertainment, music, fashion, sports, media, and more. Additional honorees included Janelle James, who received the Film/TV Award; Suzanne de Passe, who was honored with the Icon Award for Film/TV/Music; Druski, who received Innovator of the Year; Bethann Hardison, who was honored with the Icon Award for Fashion; Jermaine Dupri, who received the Icon Award for Music; Andrew Hawkins, who received the Sports Award; and Jason Lee, who received the Trailblazer Award.
