OWN has been promoting the upcoming second season of ‘Love & Marriage: DC’ which is set to air in January, and fans have noticed that the promos have only featured two of the original couples including Jamie Tyler and Erena Tyler and DJ Quicksilva and Ashley Silva.
Noticeably absent from the teasers are Monique and Chris Samuels who were the anchors of the show after leaving ‘The Real Housewives of Potomac. Fans instantly began speculating that the couple may not be returning for season 2.
That speculation was even more amplified as the Tyler’s appeared as guests on ‘Good Day DC’ a few weeks ago and teased the upcoming season and revealed that there are some new couples in the mix for season 2, but did not specify who exactly was out.
Now, on Monday (Nov. 28) Monique has confirmed that she and Chris are indeed not returning for season 2 and confirms that although they did plan to be part of season 2, the contracts are the reason for their departure.
Monique revealed that the couple had glam on standby, had pre-production meetings, and was ready to shoot but the contract issues have not been resolved. Despite that, she revealed that she and Chris have no bad blood with the production or Carlos King–and says she was able to talk to Carlos just days ago at the wedding of Porsha Williams and Simon Guobadia.
During the announcement that was made on her DC radio morning show, she also revealed that this will be the last time that fans will see the couple on reality TV. Get into the audio below via The Jasmine Brand.

Following the news, Jamie took to IG to also confirm the departure and after a fan commented that reportedly OWN doesn’t pay well, Jamie confirmed that their 6-figure checks cleared and works just fine for him and Erena.
Season 2 of LAMDC premieres in January on OWN.
