It’s been reported for some time that there was an upcoming miniseries surrounding the infamous O.J. Simpson trial and now it has been confirmed along with an edge of your seat trailer. Via Deadline:
FX has dropped the first full trailer for miniseries American Crime Story: The People Vs. O.J. Simpson ahead of its February 2 premiere.
We’re getting the first extended look at the characters who include Sarah Paulson as Marcia Clark, Sterling K. Brown as Christopher Darden, Courtney B. Vance who plays Johnnie Cochran, John Travolta, who plays Simpson’s co-counsel Robert Shapiro; David Schwimmer, who plays another Simpson attorney, his confidant Robert Kardashian, Cuba Gooding Jr, who portrays Simpson; and Connie Britton who plays Faye Resnick.
Based on the book The Run Of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson, ACS: O.J. tells the story of the Simpson murder trial from the perspective of the lawyers. It explores the chaotic behind-the-scenes dealings and maneuvering on both sides of the case and how a combination of prosecution confidence, defense wiliness and the LAPD’s history with the city’s African-American community gave a jury what it needed: reasonable doubt.
The series is being anchored by Ryan Murphy of ‘American Horror Story’ and ‘Glee’ fame. Get into the official trailer below.
