I personally have never watched a single episode of Big Brother or Celebrity Big Brother, that was until this week! The UK version of the show featured one of my fave reality TV divas, Tiffany “New York” Pollard so I gave it a go just to see how she would do in her return to reality TV.
Since episode 1, I have been hooked and the show has become a guilty pleasure of mine but now there are some claims of racism among the cast and a few cast mates are getting a lot of backlash.
The show made headlines earlier this week for the viral video of Tiffany responding to the news that David Bowie had died (but she misunderstood and thought it was her housemate David Gest).
Well following the misunderstanding which led to a blow up from Tiff, the house became enraged with her and began taunting her with threats for her to leave the house or they would. Tiffany stood her ground! Watch the full episode below.
Mostly all the housemates demanded that Tiffany leave but one in particular caught some major backlash on social media. Tiffany was subject to bullying according to viewers and the communications regulator are currently deciding whether Channel 5 will be investigated or not. According to reports:
Housemate John Partridge is caught up in a race row, following an argument with Tiffany Pollard.
During Tuesday night’s CBB – Tiffany became hysterical after assuming David Gest had died in the Diary Room.
Following the incident she was asked to leave by the former EastEnders actor and other housemates because of her reaction and this upset some viewers.
While many CBB fans complained that it was unfair for the US reality star to be ‘isolated’ and ‘abused’, other viewers have alleged John’s ‘chicken’ comment was racial motivated, which Ofcom are now assessing.
Partridge said: “[Tiffany] only wants to come to talk to us now cos she’s hungry and wants some chicken.”
Well John is not the only one being called out for his racist comment. Now fellow housemate Megan McKenna is also receiving a lot of backlash as well for her recent blow up on Thursday night’s episode (Jan 14) where she calls Tiffany a “Ghetto cunt”. Via the same outlet:

It’s the second of the series following Ofcom ‘assessing’ John Partridge’s ‘chicken’ remark to the US reality star .
In Thursday night instalment from the house, security were called to ‘calm down’ Megan , as the Ex on the Beach star verbally attacked both John Partridge and Tiffany Pollard, while other housemates held her back.
During the commotion Kristina Rihanoff thought the Ex on the Beach star is “possessed”, as Megan has to be separated from housemates.
One keystroke on Twitter will return dozens of tweets of fans outraged at the blatant and continuous racial slurs/remarks directed at Tiffany. Meanwhile, the network is reportedly looking into the matter.
