‘Real Housewives of Potomac’ Makes Triumphant Return With Ratings History+’Married To Medicine’ & ‘Real Housewives of Miami’ Also Kick Off Strong [Details]
If there was any doubt about who is leading the pack of Housewives over at Bravo, ‘The Real Housewives of Potomac’ have just proved once again why they are the “word on the street,” the “Grande dame” and quite simply, the HBIC.
Their highly-anticipated season 8 premiere coincided with the equally highly-anticipated Bravocon that went down last weekend in Las Vegas. The DMV/Potomac ladies made ratings history for Bravo with their premiere episode according to freshly released stats.
While RHOP led the pack, the season 10 premiere of ‘Married To Medicine’--which saw the debut of Phaedra Parks as a full-time cast member–and the season 6 premiere of ‘The Real Housewives of Miami’ also made major moves for the network.
The Real Housewives of Miami kicked off Season 6 on November 1, drawing 1.4M viewers across all platforms in the first seven days. That includes 695,000 viewers among adults 18-49, the key entertainment demographic.
According to NBCUniversal, that’s up 124% in total viewers and 75% in the demo compared to the Season 5 premiere. On Peacock, the Season 6 premiere was up 9% over the prior season in both total viewers and in the demo.
However, it’s worth noting that Bravo switched up its release strategy for the previous season. Season 5 rolled out weekly exclusively on Peacock before premiering on Bravo about three months later, which likely contributes to the discrepancy in “premiere” viewing. With Season 6, episodes are airing on Bravo and are available next day on Peacock.
A few days later, The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 8 debuted on November 5, scoring 2.1M total viewers in its first seven days. About a million of those viewers came from the 18-49 demo. According to NBCU, that’s the show’s most-watched season premiere in eight years in terms of total viewers, up 15% from the Season 7 debut.
The RHOP Season 8 premiere was also up 20% among adults 18-49, marking the show’s best premiere demo audience in three years. It’s also the most-watched RHOP episode ever on Peacock, ranking No. 6 against all next-day NBCU cable entertainment season premieres.
Bravo also saw success with the Season 10 premiere of Married to Medicine, which followed The Real Housewives of Potomac. The episode tallied 1.6M total viewers, with 723,000 among adults 18-49 within its first seven days across platforms.
That’s a 28% total audience increase and a 35% increase in the demo compared to the Season 9 premiere, boosting the Season 10 debut to become the show’s most-watched season premiere in more than four years since Season 7 in 2019.
It’s also the most-watched Married to Medicine episode ever on Peacock, according to NBCU.
