After a two year feud between media mogul Wendy Williams and reality star Nene Leakes things came to a head today (May 3) in Atlanta according to multiple reports. Both ladies were scheduled to be keynote speakers at The Ultimate Women’s Expo at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta on May 2 to 3, 2015.
Promoters of the event call it “the nation’s largest event designed for active women, featuring over 600 local, regional and national exhibitors each weekend of the Expo that provide products and services designed for women, their home and their family,” but the ladies must have missed that memo.
Leakes was scheduled to speak at 1PM while Williams was to follow at 1:30PM and according to multiple sources including attendees the ladies got into a heated verbal altercation and many expletives were used. Others are reporting that Nene was on stage giving her speech and took a few jabs at Wendy, which sent Wendy and her husband into a rage backstage as she waited to go on.
After attending the event, Nene flew to New York to appear on ‘Watch What Happens Live’ following the ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ reunion part 2. When Andy Cohen brought up the incident which many viewers were tweeting and asking him to have Nene clarify, she did not confirm that there was a verbal altercation but did say that Wendy’s husband Kevin was causing a scene backstage because he was mad that she was there.
The feud started a few years ago, when Nene who used to frequent Wendy’s show as a guest, took issue with Wendy over comments Wendy made on her show regarding Nene’s behavior on ‘RHOA’ and Nene defacing her Birkin bag.
Nene claimed that she always supported Wendy, her show and other ventures but felt that Wendy did not return the love and used her show to trash her on many occasions.
Although Wendy has never addressed their feud or even acknowledged that there is one, Nene addressed it on various appearance and recently threw shade at Wendy during an interview at the Ryan Cameron Morning Show calling Wendy “tired”.
Sunday night Nene took to Twitter to take a subtle shot at Wendy and although she is denying that they had any contact at the event, some folks who attended took to Twitter to dispute that claim and says they indeed did see each other.
We will definitely be tuned in to Wendy’s show on Monday to see what she has to say on the matter, but in true Wendy fashion she more than likely won’t. Stay tuned!
