Fans have been wondering forever why Rihanna‘s new album ‘R8’ album isn’t dropping. The project has spawned three singles and had tentative release dates which never were confirmed, meanwhile Riri has been focusing on her other endeavors including her ‘Puma’ line.
Well now Ri is opening up about the album and the real reason for the delay. During with NME editor Peter Robinson, the 27 year reveals that Kanye West is the reason for the album delay. She says the schedule conflicts between the two of them are the hold up. She also dished on Taylor Swift and her thoughts on Kanye running for President:
“It’s not done. To me it’s never done until it’s done. Until the final moment.”
“Now we [Kanye and I] just have to wait to get back in the studio together. His schedule and mine are totally opposite right now, but I think this month we’ll be back in the studio.”
On how many songs she’s recorded so far:
“I have so many songs I love – and they’re so different – that it’s hard to actually put them all on the same album.”
On stars joining Taylor Swift on stage:
“I don’t think I would. I just don’t think it makes sense. I don’t think our brands are the same: I don’t think they match, I don’t think our audiences are the same. In my mind she’s a role model, I’m not.”
Her thoughts on Kanye’s bid for Presidency:
“People are voting for [Donald] Trump; who wouldn’t vote for Kanye?” She continued, “I’m really, really elated with his speech. His speech was incredible.”
