We are just a few weeks away from the season 4 premiere of ‘Basketball Wives: LA’ and as we already told you executive producer Shaunie O’ Neal and Tami Roman have ditched the Miami version of the show and come over to join Draya Michele, Jackie Christie, Malaysia Pargo and Brandi Maxiell and newcomer Meghan James over on the west side.
Shaunie caught up with Hip Hollywood to dish on the new season and reveals why she and Tami joined the show. Via YBF:
“It just needed something. And I think it gets good, it almost gets competitive unintentionally.”
She also reveals that there will be a few surprises and surprise guests this coming season. Hmm could one of those surprises be Evelyn Lozada? We told you that Evelyn revealed that she was contacted and asked to join the new season but turned it down as she now has moved on from BBW and is gearing up for her own reality series on OWN centered around her family life instead of drink throwing and fighting….that doesn’t mean she can’t make a surprise cameo though right!?!
Shaunie also finally explained exactly what happened with the original Miami based ‘Basketball Wives’ which she, Tami and Eve starred on.
“They never officially ended Miami, but none of us have ties to Miami anymore. So it didn’t make sense, we would all have to fly there just to shoot. So I guess you can say Basketball Wives Miami is officially gone, but you’ll still see the ladies of Miami floating around.” she revealed.
The new season of Basketball Wives LA premieres on VH1 Sunday, July 12th at 9/8c. Check out Shaunie’s interview below.
