It’s been a week since BET’s groundbreaking ‘The New Edition Story‘ aired, and since then fans of the group and new fans alike are still reveling in the success and music from the group and their respective solo projects.
The groups resurgence to the top of iTunes charts in the subsequent days following the premiere of the mini series is a true statement of their influence and staying power. The film also showcased the impact that the group had on future artists, some of which were birthed out of their camp.
90’s music heads will remember the Mike Bivens discovered kids group, Another Bad Creation aka ABC. The hip hop/new jack swing Atlanta natives arrived on the scene in 1990 and would later release their debut album ‘Coolin’ at the Playground Ya Know!” on February 11, 1991.
The group only remained active until about 1993 before disbanding, but not before crafting their biggest singles ‘Jealous Girl,’ ‘Playground,’ and today’s Throwback Thursday cut, ‘Iesha.’ If you need some 90’s nostalgia or don’t know the song, get in below.
