As fans of DMX continue to pray for the rapper who has been hospitalized since Friday after a drug overdose and subsequent heart attack, they are also using this time to reflect on his art.

Many fans took to the streets of New York this past week for a vigil outside of White Plains Hospital where he is currently on life support. Fans prayed for the Hip-Hop giant, blasted his music, and chanted the lyrics to his extensive catalog.

In honor of Throwback Thursday, and as a huge X fan myself, I thought it only fitting to share one of my favorite tracks from him.

‘Slippin‘ was the first single from his highly anticipated second studio album ‘Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood‘ which was released in 1998. While the song didn’t have mainstream commercial success as some of his other singles, it went on to go gold with over 500,000 in sales and is a fan favorite.

Ironically, it is very fitting considering the current circumstances. Here’s to continued prayers for X’s recovery.
