For fans of Kelly Rowland who were sad to hear that she had departed from her label, don’t fret, the R&B vixen has not let that hold her back. The singer sat down for an interview with ‘HuffPost Live’ and talked about her upcoming plans including working on her fifth album, the follow up to 2013’s highly underrated ‘Talk A Good Game’.
Kels says for the new album, which she just started recording a week ago–she plans to try some new things she hasn’t done on past albums including the use of flutes, horns, drums and other instrumentation. She says she was inspired by the legends like Diana Ross:
“I’ve been inspired by the queens that have gone before us, incredibly strong women who aren’t afraid to take risks and just be innovative,”
Kelly also confirmed and touched on her leaving her label and her mindset now going forward as an artist:
“I feel like right now, I just needed something new and I’ve earned the right to make my own choices and make my own decisions,” “I wish them well, they wish me well. No hard feelings, I just needed a fresh, new start.”
There are different offers on the table,” “I just want to see what it feels like. I’m just in the studio on my own and just having a really good time just being creatively free.”
In addition to her speaking on her recent collaboration as the face of Caress products, she talked about wanting to now pursue film and the type of roles she would like to do. Check out everything below.
