Is NeNe Leakes calling it quits for ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta‘ (again)!?

Leakes has been alluding to such on social media the past few weeks as the current season of ‘RHOA’ is playing out, including a post as recent as this weekend where she seemingly revealed she may be taking a break from the show after season 12.

Well, on Tuesday’s episode of ‘The Wendy Williams Show,’ her good friend Wendy revealed that she is indeed quitting based on a private text that NeNe sent to her.

NeNe revealed the news during an on-air interview with Jerry O’ Connell, who happens to be a Housewives superfan.

via PEOPLE:

On Tuesday’s episode of The Wendy Williams Show, host Wendy Williams claimed she had gotten a text message from Leakes announcing that she is quitting the long-running Bravo reality series.

“I took a break between commercials, my office is right there behind the set. I had to go to the bathroom and so I looked at my phone between commercials. And NeNe texts, ‘I’m quitting,’ ” Williams, 55, told guest Jerry O’Connell, adding that she got the text at 9:08 a.m. “I’m surprised I got it, because I have no service in my office, but I got it.”

A rep for Leakes told PEOPLE, “It’s been an especially difficult couple of weeks for NeNe, and she was venting to her friend in private correspondence. Nothing has been confirmed or officially decided for next season.”

Leakes appeared to respond herself to the news, posting an Instagram with the caption, “WHO SAID DAT!?!?!” and the hashtag “shaking my head.”

This would not be the first time Leakes has left the show.

She took a hiatus after season 7 to focus on other ventures before ultimately returning in season 10 where she has been full time ever since.

Stay tuned. We’re sure there is more tea coming.
