
Montell Jordan shocked fans yesterday (September 3) when he announced that his prostate cancer has returned, nearly a year after undergoing a radical prostatectomy.
The Grammy-Award winning singer revealed that following a routine checkup, scans detected cancer in his lymph nodes, despite the initial belief that the 2024 surgery had removed all the cancerous tissue.
As fans may know, the 56-year-old hitmaker was diagnosed with Stage 1 prostate cancer in early 2024. After the prostatectomy surgery, it was discovered that the cancer was more aggressive and at a higher stage.
During a nine-month follow-up, scans revealed that the cancer had returned and spread to his lymph nodes.
The singer is documenting his journey and has partnered with the organization ZERO Prostate Cancer in hopes his public battle will reduce the stigma associated with the disease and encourage early screenings, especially in the Black community.
This morning (September 4), he stopped by ‘The Breakfast Club‘ to dish on the re-diagnosis, his efforts to spread the word, and revealed he is has been documenting the entire process since his intitial cancer diagnosis, and plans to release the project.
