
Sad news out of the music world today, as Soul and R&B crooner D’Angelo has passed away at the age of 51.
The Grammy-winning performer passed away Tuesday morning in New York City after a private battle with pancreatic cancer, according to sources connected to his family and his former manager, Kedar Massenberg.
D’Angelo won 4 Grammys, including Best R&B Album for ‘Voodoo’ in 2001 and ‘Black Messiah’ in 2016. He also won Best R&B Song in 2016 for ‘Really Love’ and Best Male R&B Vocal Performance for ‘Untitled (How Does It Feel).’
He released 3 albums, including his 1995 debut ‘Brown Sugar,’ Voodoo’ (2000), and his most recent album was 2014’s ‘Black Messiah.’ He was reportedly in the studio working on music for a new project.
The singer is survived by a daughter and 2 sons. His first son, Michael is the child he shared with singer, Angie Stone who also died tragically this year in a car accident.
