Fans of the the R&B group 112 have been wondering and asking for years what happened as the original lineup is no longer the same. Now, founding member, Slim is opening up and keeping it real on the demise of the foursome and reveals that it was the other half of the group who ultimately caused the split.
During a recent podcast interview, Slim opened up about the group’s split and what really led to it.
During the conversation, Slim spoke honestly about the group’s journey — from their rise and peak success to the internal challenges that eventually caused fractures. He explained that the breakup wasn’t the result of one single incident, but rather a buildup of personal differences, shifting priorities, and unresolved issues that grew over time.
Slim shared that as the years went on, business decisions and creative direction began to clash with personal relationships. What started as small disagreements eventually turned into deeper divides, making it harder for everyone to stay aligned as both artists and brothers. According to Slim, some of those tensions were personal, not just professional, which made the situation even more complicated.
He also addressed the group’s lineup changes, noting that he and Mike continued performing under the 112 name, while original members Q Parker and Daron Jones went on to pursue separate paths and musical ventures. Slim made it clear that this transition carried emotional weight and wasn’t something that happened lightly.
