It looks like the Grammy’s aftermath saga continues as word has arrived of an online petition started by Beyonce’s loyal fans The Beyhive. As you are aware, the hive was less than pleased with their royal queen not receiving the ‘Album of the Year’ award at Sunday’s Grammy’s. After Kanye West spoke out about the matter now Bey’s most obsessed fans are taking matters into their own hands.
On the same platform where a childish petition was launched just last year demanding that Beyonce comb her daughter Blue Ivy’s hair, now the platform has been once again used to draw attention to yet another senseless cause. The petition filed against National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (the board that decides who goes home with a Grammy) reads:
An unspeakable act of corrupt and senseless terrorism was committed at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards when BEYONCÉ—the 5th and most innovative album from megastar and possible angel Beyoncé—was not given the Album of the Year Award, and, instead, it was granted to an album no one even knows the name of by Beck (also not sure who this is). The world would like to see action taken, whether it be stripping Beck of the award and giving it to Beyoncé, or for the Grammy Awards and the Academy to be obliterated completely. Something must be done after this terrible atrocity.
This petition comes despite the fact that Bey won three Grammy’s on Sunday, making her the second most awarded female in history now after Alison Krauss. Even still, the hive suggests that as a consequence, if the Academy fails to give Bey the AOTY award, they should disband immediately. At the time of posting, the effort had received almost 700 supporters.
Personally we strongly doubt that the Grammy board are paying the petition any mind, but do you think the Beyhive is justified, or have they gone too far?
