It is official! for weeks we have reported and discussed the return of Janet Jackson and now the woman herself has confirmed it! The singer released a video late Friday night on the eve of her birthday, reminding fans that she told them in 2014 that if there was a new project or any news coming she would be the one to let them know..and now she is!
Following the #ConversationsInACafe hashtag that we told you about this past week and the leaking of a reported tour date in July, the singer has now confirmed she indeed will be releasing new music, going on a world tour and initiating a new movement.
“I promised you’d hear it from my lips, and now you will,” “This year: new music, new world tour, a new movement. I’ve been listening. Let’s keep the conversation going.” she says in the video while only a studio board is seen in the clip as she remains elusive.
With the current climate of police brutality, racial profiling and the killing of unarmed black men we can’t help but think that the “Conversation” will be centered around these and other continuing injustices in the world. Rhythm Nation 2015 everyone! Get into her announcement below.
