We’ve petitioned and revolted and screamed to the high Bravo heavens about getting Sheree Whitfield back on Real Housewives of Atlanta and although we told you recently that Sheree hinted at her possible return, now E! News has received word that it might be real.
Today (July 8) the major outlet reported the following confirmation:
Shereè Whitfield is in talks to return to The Real Housewives of Atlanta, multiple sources have confirmed to E! News, and now we have one very important question: Who gon’ check her, boo? It’s unclear what type of role she’d have, but we know discussions are happening. The new season is not filming yet.
Seriously, who will check Shereè if she returns? The cast of Real Housewives of Atlanta‘s upcoming eighth season has not been confirmed yet, but we know NeNe Leakeswill not return (at least as a full-time peach-carrying Housewife) andClaudia Jordan is also off the show as a main Housewife. Phaedra Parks, Cynthia Bailey, Kandi Burruss and Kenya Moore made up the rest of the season seven cast.
Will Kim Fields check Shereè? The Facts of Life star is also in the mix for the upcoming season, but nothing official has been nailed down yet. NeNe announced her exit from the show on Instagram, but a source said she may still pop up. Next up for her? Sitting alongside Betty White on ABC’s revival of To Tell the Truth. The new show is hosted by black-ish star Anthony Anderson.
Returning faces to Real Housewives shows is nothing new. Camille Grammercontinues to pop up on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills from time to time despite departing the show in season two. Dina Manzo returned to Real Housewives of New Jersey as a regular for season six. Bethenny Frankel returned toReal Housewives of New York City for season seven and over in Orange County,Jeana Keough continues to make appearances despite leaving the show five years ago.
With the completion of Chateau Sheree said to be finally underway and move in ready, and the exit of Leakes from the show leaving open a BIG chuck of change in their budget, it only makes sense for Bravo to do all they can to get Sheree back on the show. Sheree’s return will make her the new sole original housewife since Nene, with Kandi following.
We’ve also seen reports speculating that the show will now focus Kandi Burruss who joined in season 2, as the primary character as she is the longest running member after Nene. Part of that may be true as we told you yesterday her good friend Fantasia Barrino is also being scouted for the show.
